JAMES R. ADAIR

Discovery House, 160 Pages, Paper, $8.95

Here is a biography concerning one of the past sound influential preachers of the airwaves whom this reviewer grew up on (actually liking his gravelly voice, for it was the voice of authority, unmistakableness, and unwavering commitment to what he believed). The account is both humorous and touching at times, and, like the reviewer, the reader who is somewhat familiar with DeHaan and Radio Bible Class will no doubt learn more. And to those who are completely unfamiliar, the book should introduce this Hollander who was greatly used of God in soundly teaching the Word to countless numbers of people.

The book has a nice section of photos and a family tree. Author James Adair is a well-known editor who has, among many other works, edited the monthly Pacific Garden Mission news bulletin for 58 years!
