This year’s Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics, hosted at Shepherds Theological Seminary in North Carolina September 20–21, discussed the theological interpretation of Scripture.

TIS is an approach to studying the Bible that has grown in popularity over the past two decades in academic circles and church communities.

This method has both strengths and weaknesses. But a more consistent approach to the Bible has withstood the test of time. We call it dispensationalism.

At its heart, TIS is an attempt at a back-to-the-Bible approach to interpret Scripture, especially in scholarly circles. . . .

God’s Word is clear. Therefore, our task is simply to state the obvious—nothing more, nothing less.
