Night after night, young David, the psalmist and shepherd of Israel, gathered his sheep into the walled sheepfold and rested in the entry. There he could see in the heavens the evidence of the glory of God, the creator. David wrote,
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge” (Ps. 19:1–2, NIV).
The heavens continually reveal knowledge of God’s attributes, power, and divine nature: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made” (Rom. 1:20, NIV). And science is discovering what the Bible has said all along.
