Creation MuseumWe who knew about it have been eagerly looking forward to its completion—a project that is sure to highly impact people with the gospel and, in particular, with the Bible’s teaching concerning the origin of the world and all that is in it. That project is the Creation Museum built by Answers in Genesis (AiG), foremost Christian apologetics ministry.

Ken Ham, president and founder of AiG, became burdened about the inroads of falsehood concerning origins and related spiritual issues when he taught science in Australian public schools. A friend then introduced him to the book The Genesis Flood by Drs. Henry Morris and John Whitcomb, increasing his burden to share the facts supporting a Biblical view of creation. That book is credited with turning the general Christian public away from evolutionary beliefs to a literal view of creation as taught in the first book of the Bible.

AiG has grown remarkably since Ken Ham launched the ministry in 1994, with its emphasis on producing quality literature, informative public seminars, and much-needed visual tools. Now a dream of AiG’s has come true: the opening of a first-class museum that tells the “relevance of a literal Genesis to the church and the world today with creativity.”

Nothing has been spared in making the museum a “$27 million high-tech masterpiece.” Designed by a former Universal Studios exhibit director, this state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot museum “brings the pages of the Bible to life.” AiG describes the museum as “a time machine transporting visitors into the period of ancient history soon after the time of creation.”

As visitors “walk through history” among indoor waterfalls and soaring cypress trees, they will encounter thirty static and animatronic displays, including humans, animals, and dinosaurs. They will tour the universe inside a state-of-the-art planetarium and view a first-rate geologic collection of minerals and fossils.

A Special Effects Theater, complete with misty sea breezes and rumbling seats, provides a visual thrill ride through the “Seven C’s of History.” Inside a cave where real stalactites and stalagmites grow, guests will learn that these deposits do not require millions of years to form.

Along the tour, guests may stop in at Noah’s Café for a bite to eat or enjoy two miles of nature trails around the three-acre lake. Then they could head to the mini Grand Canyon exhibit or see the Dino Dig Site to learn the Biblical view of fossils.

Needless to say, AiG’s Creation Museum will attract families across the country and around the world. This unique masterpiece goes beyond “telling the compelling story of the creation of life on this planet to proclaiming the Bible as supreme authority in all matters it addresses.”
