This year’s theme is from the book of Daniel, a great way to follow up our study of dispensationalism at last year’s conference,” says Ken Spink, chair of the GARBC Conference program committee.

This year’s conference committee (Ken Spink, Chuck Pausley, David Little, Jerry Webber, Tom Alexander, and Brad Quick) deliberately programmed the event as a week long exposition of a single book of the Bible, with each speaker taking a different passage from Daniel.

“A correct understanding of Daniel is foundational for us to understand our theology, both for pastors and lay persons,” Ken says, adding that the study will also encourage spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting, courage, and faithful ministry.

“For years we have said the GARBC is a Bible-loving association devoted to good preaching,” Ken says. “Why not highlight what we love the most: expository preaching!”

The Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg, Ill., is host hotel for the 2010 GARBC Conference, located near many Chicago attractions and just across the street from the renowned Woodfield Mall, Illinois’ number one tourist destination. Families who attend the conference will enjoy many area attractions and events. Plan now for an extra day or two of vacation!

Conference planners made a quick change of venue over the Christmas break, when a sudden and unexpected closing of the conference’s original intended site, the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington Heights, Ill., had them scrambling to locate another host hotel.

“The new site for the Conference is better than we could have imagined,” says Andrea Gower, conference coordinator for the GARBC. “Moving only four miles away from the original facility, our new location is just two blocks from the GARBC Resource Center!”

Conference guests will be invited to special tours of Regular Baptist Press and the GARBC Resource Center in the afternoons.
