Broken promises. They’re an unfortunate manifestation of living in a fallen, depraved world.
Many bloody wars have started after treaties were violated. Families have been fractured after married couples embark with a pledge “to love and to cherish till death us do part” but ultimately break their vows. People who have signed contracts and promissory notes fail to pay what they owe after becoming financially overextended.
While society is characterized by broken promises, God always perfectly upholds His end of an agreement. He is a “covenant-keeping” God. Wholly reliable, God possesses ultimate, unwavering truth through His Word, which “cannot be broken” no matter what challenges come against it (John 10:35).
The best part: God’s covenant promises are freely available to anyone.
In a world of broken promises and broken people, thankfully we can lean on the one true and living God,
who delivers on His promises no matter the circumstances.
