Ah, the crack of a bat! It’s easy to get a baseball fan excited about spring. The popularity of “America’s pastime” has led to metaphors such as “touch base” and “hit it out of the park.” But before anyone touches a base or scores a home run, something else—a fundamental action—must happen: the batter must hit the ball (or, yes, be walked).
Just as there’s a prerequisite for running the bases, there is one for genuine, effective spiritual growth: the sinner must believe the gospel and trust Christ as Savior. Salvation is, therefore, a prerequisite for growth in Christ. And that is a crucial reason evangelism matters in VBS.
RBP VBS is known as The Evangelistic VBS because of its clear, consistent, and comprehensive approach to presenting the gospel. In fact, RBP VBS is the only VBS endorsed by the world’s largest evangelistic organization for children, Child Evangelism Fellowship. As you might guess, RBP believes it’s vital to reach children with the gospel through VBS.
