‘A healthy church is a reproducing church’

By Darrell Goemaat

It started in a dorm room. That’s where church planter Dan Nichols of Restored Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, says he and Tim Walker decided that any church they planted together would someday reproduce itself.

“Tim and I were in Loescher dorm at Clarks Summit University, and we just started dreaming about what God wanted us to do, and multiplication was at the foundation of it all,” Dan says.

God made that dream a reality in 2012 when Dan and Tim, along with Seth Maine and Dan’s sister Cynthia—the original four—started Restored Church in a row house. Restored Church is now planting a church in nearby Hazleton.
