“Strengthening Baptist Churches across America” has been a theme of Baptist Builders Club since its inception in the 1950s. Churches fellowshipping in the GARBC have been strengthened as BBC–USA has come alongside them in the areas of financial grants, interest-free loans, prayer support, and, sometimes, coordinating help on building projects.
After establishing BBC–USA, the GARBC’s Council of Fourteen promoted the new ministry in the Baptist Bulletin. They challenged every member of every GARBC church to sign up and commit to giving at least $2 per call for help, promising not to exceed five calls in a given year.
The current director, Michael Nolan, desires to see every church member in every GARBC church sign up, but the reality is that, rather than individual donors, many churches have taken on the ministry for monthly support. One of them is Grace Baptist Church in Emmetsburg, Iowa, pastored by Curtis DeFord. Grace Baptist Church has supported BBC–USA for over 20 years.
