Alex Bauman has been appointed director of Regular Baptist Press, a management position that oversees the editorial and graphics departments in the production of curriculum, books, and publications.

“Alex understands the process of developing curriculum and new product,” says John Greening, national representative of the GARBC. “He is a capable teacher of church teachers, is respected by his staff, and has a vision for the future of our products and services.”

Originally from Nebraska, Bauman is a graduate of Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned an MDiv in 1997. He and his wife, Dawn, have three children. He was formerly assistant pastor of Urbandale Baptist Church, Urbandale, Iowa. During that time, he wrote a leader’s guide for RBP’s Impact Teaching book. Originally intending it as a resource for his own church, Alex sent the manuscript to John Greening at Regular Baptist Press—leading to its publication, then a new ministry position for its author.

Alex has worked at Regular Baptist Press for five years, first as director of adult ministries and then as editorial director of curriculum. His recent responsibilities have included oversight of a massive curriculum revision project, completed in March.

“I’m looking forward to the expanded responsibilities,” Alex says of his appointment. “I’ll still have some hands-on work with the curriculum, but I will also have the opportunity to dream, plan ahead, think about the future, and capture a vision for what RBP can be. We have a talented, professional group of editors and graphic artists at RBP. I am excited about working with them to create effective ministry tools for churches around the globe.”

Bauman joins a GARBC administrative team that includes Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries; John Murdoch, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy Ministries; Michael Nolan, director of business administration/treasurer; and Jim Vogel, associate national representative.

“I look forward to working with Alex and the other administrators in building on our Regular Baptist Ministries’ strengths,” John Greening says.

Since moving to the Chicago area, Alex and his family have been involved in planting New Life Baptist Church, Lake in the Hills, Ill., where he continues to serve as a deacon. In his time away from work, Alex enjoys basketball, crossword puzzles, Wii video games, and coaching Little League baseball.
