As another election approaches, Christians will be confronted with hard decisions. We will be asking question like Which candidates should receive my vote? and What position should I take on this ballot initiative? Consider the following six Biblical guidelines related to the Christian and the state. These guidelines are not exhaustive but should provide us with a good starting point to be responsible Christian citizens.
Responsible Christian Citizens Practice Good Social Stewardship
A stewardship is an inheritance, and a steward is the caretaker of that inheritance. Stewards do not really own anything; they merely serve as guardians on behalf of others. And it is required of stewards that they be found faithful (1 Cor. 4:2).
In this world, God has entrusted us with the stewardship of three great institutions. He established these institutions for our well-being.
