DanaPoint-Conf_INDANA POINT, Calif.—Pastors and wives of churches in the California Association of Regular Baptist Churches got together for a retreat Sept. 16–18.

As usual, says event organizer Robin Montgomery, pastor of Crest Avenue Baptist Church, Riverside, Calif., everyone enjoyed the relaxed schedule. The Dana West Marina was the venue. Located on the Pacific coast, it is home to nearly one thousand boats, 25 shops, and miles of walking and biking paths. Leaders were invited to bring their children, as they have been for the past several years. “They always add a greater degree of enjoyment!” says Pastor Montgomery.

Attendees began the retreat with a potluck dinner, “and since there was so much great food left over, we had lunch together on Tuesday in the meeting room,” says Montgomery.

Biblical teaching came from a portion of Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project video called “Science: What Is True?” which equipped leaders with a Biblical worldview.

Pastor Montgomery says of the retreat, “It is nice to get to know each family on a more intimate level. Before leaving on Wednesday, we met together to discuss ministry ideas and problems, concluding with prayer.”
