ANKENY, Iowa—Messengers to the 2008 GARBC Conference have welcomed three new churches to the fellowship, approving them by unanimous vote during the business session on Thursday, June 26.
Two congregations were welcomed as mission churches:

  • Bennington Baptist Church (Bennington, Neb.), Pastor Peter and Mary Lou Jenks
  • Heritage Baptist Church (Cedarburg, Wisc.), Pastor Mark and Melissa Brooks

One church was welcomed to full fellowship status:

  • Jehova Chamma Baptist Church (Green Acres, Fla.), Pastor Jocelyn and Gerta Dorcin.

Messengers also approved 12 requests from churches to withdraw fellowship from the GARBC. Three churches had dissolved, one ceased to be a Baptist church, six churches expressed a desire to be unaffiliated, and two churches cited separation issues.
